The Bard's Tale IV Announced After 27 Years - News
by William D'Angelo , posted on 26 January 2015 / 3,825 ViewsBrian Fargo has announced on Twitter that he is planning to bring back the classic RPG The Bard's Tale. The game will be a sequel to the original trilogy that last saw a release, The Bard's Tale 3, 27 years ago.
His studio inXile Entertainment will be using Kickstarter to help fund the game. This is the third time they are taking to Kickstarter to help fund their games. The other two games Wasteland 2 and Torment: Tides of Numenera were successfully funded.
"It's official.. And I'm very personally excited to be working on this," tweeted Fargo about the announcement of The Bard's Tale IV. "2015 is the 30th anniversary of when the first #bardstale came out. The timing is serendipitous."
"I wonder how many of you still have your old character files for import into a new Bard's Tale, No promises but it would be kind of cool," he also tweeted. "As much as I enjoyed our little Bard's Tale comedy romp, Bard's Tale IV is a proper sequel of the trilogy."
