First 20th Anniversary PlayStation 4 Sold for $128.9K at Auction - News
by William D'Angelo , posted on 26 January 2015 / 3,594 ViewsSony put up for auction the very first PlayStation 4 20th anniversary console in Japan. The proceeds will be donated to charity and Sony said they will match the winning bid.
There were in total 1,585 bids and the winning bid was ¥15.14 million or $128,851, according to the Wall Street Journal. The bidding for the console started at just ¥1.
"We appreciate all who participated in the auction and are surprised at the highest bid price, which was higher than our expectations," said a Sony representative.
Sony released the 20th anniversary PlayStation 4 console in December selling just 12,300 consoles.
