Nintendo Designer Shigeru Miyamoto in an interview on YouTube and reported by GameSpot talked about the Wii U Mario Maker. He confirmed the game will feature online functionality, but did say that local co-op was the main draw for the game.

"You'll be able to see what happens when other people play your course or when you play other peoples' courses," said Miyamoto. "There'll be popularity rankings for the most popular courses and things like that. So there's a lot on the community side that you can look forward to. Of course, we'll have the Internet ability to exchange courses as well."

Miyamoto also talked about next year's Star Fox title for the Wii U. He stated that the game will feature Amiibo functionality. Also the second screen will be used s a cockpit view, instead of being a map.
