PS4 Sales Increase 4 Times in Japan, Yokai Watch 2: Shinuchi Sells 1.2M Units First Week - News

Level-5's Yokai Watch 2: Shinuchi (3DS) had a huge launch in Japan. The game launched at the top of the Media Create charts with sales of 1.24 million units. There were three other games that debuted in the top 20. Grand Theft Auto V (PS4) debuted at number three with sales of 81,659 and Shining Resonance (PS3) debuted at number five with sales of 67,282. Assassin’s Creed Rogue (PS3) debuted at number 10 with sales of 17,656.

Pokemon Omega Ruby / Alpha Sapphire (3DS) continued its strong sales, selling another 152,384 units. Super Smash Bros. for Wii U (WiiU) was at number four on the charts with sales of 79,005, while the 3DS version was at number six with sales of 47,393.

The 3DS continued to dominate the hardware charts selling 157,103 units across all models. The PlayStation 4 saw a huge jump in sales ot 68,041 units. The Wii U sold 27,334 units, the PlayStation Vita sold 24,038, the PlaySTation 3 sold 7,803, and the Xbox One sold 724 units.
