Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire Sells 1.53M Units in Japan - News

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire was the top selling game in Japan in its first week, according to Famitsu. The remake of Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire managed to sell 1.53 million units.

Assassin's Creed: Unity (PS4) was the second biggest debut this week with sales of 43,838 units. Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires (PS3) debuted at number three with sales of 35,637 units. The other debuted was Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires (PS4) which rounds out the top 10 with sales of 12,252 units.

The release of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire helped push 3DS sales. The New 3DS LL model saw sales increase 50 percent to 42,591, while the New 3DS saw sales jump 112 percent to 22,699. The older 3DS models saw a combined sales of 17,8339 units.

The PlayStation 4 was top home console with sales of 11,141. The Wii U sold 8,506 units, the PS3 sold 3,862 units and the Xbox One 1,182 units. For the other handhelds the PlayStation Vita sold 9,606 units and the PlayStation Vita TV sold 697 units.
