US retailer GameStop has announced that it will be closing for Thanksgiving on Thursday November 27 so employees can spend the day with their families, reports GameSpot. Many retails in recent years have opened on Thanksgiving to start their Black Friday deals a day early.

"We will be closed on Thanksgiving Day next week in the United States out of respect for our associates and their families," he said. "Sometimes, we have to not let the pressure from other retailers distract us from our values."

While the retailer will be closed for Thanksgiving, many GameStop outlets will open up on Midnight for Black Friday, while the rest plan to open at 8am.
