King Revenue and Profits Slip, Candy Crush Saga on the Decline - News

Candy Crush Saga developer King has released its quarterly report. Both non-GAAP and GAAP revenue and profits have slipped. Non-GAAP revenue dropped 16 percent year-over year to $543.9 million, while Candy Crush saga dropped 23 percent to $279 million. However, King's other games saw combined revenue increase six percent quarter-over-quarter to $264 million.

King also reported GAAP revenue dropped 17 percent year-over-year to $514.4 million. GAAP profits also dropped 38 percent year-over-year to $141.7 million.

The number of monthly active users did increase slightly to 348 million users, from 345 million users. However, the number of paid payers dropped to 8.7 million users, from 10.4 million users. Though the average spent per paid user did increase by seven percent.

This is just the life cycle for all mobile developers. They have one super hit game that allows them to exist, and as it slowly dies, they slowly die with it.

REALLY?? I'm so shocked. Well it's a good thing they had the IPO while the company was at it's peak, that way all the creators could cash out and the average guy gets stuck with the bag.

I m wondering about the guys who suggest nintendo to go mobile!Success of a mobile game is ephemeral!Just see how many games were huge and currently no one remembers or plays them!I was obsessed with Farmville and angry birds, I don't touch them anymore...! People,someday get bored with these games unlike Home/Handheld consoles games... Zynga was hyper-successive!No longer...
It constantly posts huge losses! Farmvile had 500m players,now it has 5m...?

the market cap of this stock was as high as 7 billion dollars, consider Nintendo is around 12 billion and Sony 22 billion. Bubble anyone?
