Overall, hardware sale this week increased by 14 percent. Week-on-week sales are up for the 3DS. Overall year-on-year sales are down 11 percent. No platforms are up year-on-year.
Five games debuted in the top 30 this week: Monster Hunter 4G (3DS) debuted at the top with sales of 1.5 million units.
Software milestones this week in the top 30: FIFA 15 (PS4) passed the three million mark and FIFA 15 (PS4) passed the two million mark.
Worldwide Hardware
Hardware home console sales week-on-week is down across the board. PlayStation 4 sales are down by 7,056 (-4%) to 191,018 units sold. Xbox One sales are down by 95,245 (-53%) to 83,851 units sold. The PS3 sold 45,794 units, a decrease of 3,612 (-7%). Wii U sales are down by 4,940 (-11%) to 40,794 units sold. Xbox 360 sales are down by 1,587 (-5%) to 29,189 units sold. The Wii sold 7,023 units, a decrease of 126 (-2%).
Handheld sales week-on-week is up for the 3DS. The 3DS sold 358,823 units, which is an increase of 217,279 (154%). The PlayStation Vita sold 21,727 units, which is down 6,179 (-22%) compared to last week. Week on week sales is up by 98,544 (14%) to 778,219.
No platform is up year-on-year. The PlayStation 3 is down 83,187 (-64%), the Wii is down 10,945 (-61%), the Xbox 360 is down 55,780 (-66%), and the Wii U is down 3,602 (-8%). The Vita is down 71,235 (-77%) and the 3DS is down 114,472 (-24%). Year on year sales is down by 93,911 units (-11%).
Home console hardware sales has decreased for the Xbox One and Wii for one and two weeks for the PlayStation 4, Wii U, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360.
The PlayStation 3 has a 55 percent market share for the seventh generation; the Xbox 360 has a 36 percent market share; and the Wii has a nine percent market share. The PlayStation 4 has a 60 percent market share for the eighth generation, the Xbox One has a 27 percent market share and the Wii U has a 13 percent market share.
Handheld hardware sales increased for the 3DS for two weeks. The Vita has decreased for two weeks. The gap between the 3DS and Vita has decreased this week to 337,000 units, from 114,000 units last week.
The 3DS has a 94 percent market share for the eighth generation of handhelds, while the Vita has a six percent market share. Compared with ten weeks the 3DS is up and the Vita is down.
Worldwide Software
Five games debuted in the top 30 this week: Monster Hunter 4G (3DS) debuted at the top with sales of 1.5 million units.
Here are the other games in the top 10 that are not debuts: Super Smash Bros. 3DS (3DS) is at number four with sales of 344,344. FIFA 15 (PS4) is at number five with sales of 234,253. FIFA 15 (PS3) is at number six with sales of 231,154. Middle-Earth: Shadow of Mordor (PS4) rounds out the top 10 sales of 175,102.
Software home console sales week-on-week is up for the Wii, Xbox 360 and PlayStation 4. The PlayStation 4 sold 1.80 million games, an increase of 128,510 units (8%). The PlayStation 3 sold 1.34 million games this week, a decrease of 57,711 units (-4%). The Xbox 360 sold 1.10 million games, an increase of 106,353 units (11%). Xbox One software sales are down 176,112 units (-20%) to 685,163 games sold. The Wii U sold 194,979 games, a decrease of 1,240 (-1%). The Wii sold 282,334 games, an increase of 77,810 (38%).
Handheld software sales week-on-week is up for the DS, PSP and 3DS. The 3DS sold 2.19 million games, which is up 868,307 units (66%). The DS sold 144,957 games, an increase of 10,062 units (7%) week-on-week. Vita game sales are down 23,673 units (-15%) to 139,111 games sold. The PSP sold 55,027 games, an increase of 2,151 (4%). Total combined software is up 1.86 million units (13%) week-on-week to 7.93 million.
Year-on-year software totals are up for the Wii U and Vita. The PlayStation 3 is down 1.35 million units (-50%), the Wii is down 115,233 units (-29%), the Xbox 360 is down 433,964 units (-28%), and the Wii U is up 486 units (0%). The DS is down 74,421 units (-34%), the PSP is down 44,422 units (-45%), the 3DS is down 2.26 million units (-51%), and the Vita is down 63,531 units (-31%). Total combined software is down 1.86 million units (-19%) games sold year-on-year.
Home console software sales have increased for the PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and Wii for one week. Sales have decreased for two weeks for the PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Wii U.
The PlayStation 3 has a 49 percent market share for the seventh generation; the Xbox 360 has a 41 percent market share; and the Wii has a 10 percent market share. The PlayStation 4 has a 67 percent market share for the eighth generation, the Xbox One has a 26 percent market share, and the Wii U has an seven percent market share.
Handheld software sales have increased for the 3DS for two weeks and one week for the DS and PSP. The Vita has decreased for two weeks. The 3DS and DS have remained above their rivals, the Vita and PSP respectively. The 3DS nearly sold 16 times as many games as the Vita. The DS sold nearly three times as many games as the PSP.
The DS has a 62 percent market share for the current generation handhelds and the PSP has a 28 percent market share. The 3DS has a 94 percent market share for the next generation handhelds, while the Vita has a 6 percent market share. Compared with ten weeks ago the 3DS is up.

Not TOO ouch, that was the week Pokemon X/Y came out, so it was like double what the 3DS usually did last year
