Destiny has set a new record in the UK beating out Watch Dogs as the biggest launch for a new IP in UK history. This is according to official figures. The news comes after Activision announced the game made more than $500 million in its first 24 hours.

Destiny sold the most units on the PlayStation 4 with a 46 percent marketshare. The Xbox One had a 36 percent marketshare, the Xbox 360 a 14 percent marketshare and the PlayStation 3 a four percent marketshare.

Not surprisingly Destiny is also the biggest launch in the UK in 2014. Watch Dogs had the second biggest launch, followed by Titanfall.

It seems the game is getting polarized reviews due to the overhype. I didn't like the game personally, but it's a great news for the people who are having a blast playing it.

And when has it been the last time that Gamespot and Polygon review scores are reliable? Especially Gamespot, I check their scores just to have a laugh.
