Sony: Destiny Being Treated Like a First Party Game, Will Push PS4 Sales This Holiday - News
by William D'Angelo , posted on 09 September 2014 / 7,076 ViewsDestiny launched today for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. However, that isn't stopping Sony from saying they are treating the game like it is first party.
"We're treating it, for all intents and purposes internally, as if it's a first-party release," Sony’s UK boss Fergal Gara told Eurogamer. "We're wrapping our arms around it on all levels of the organisation. It's a special project and an important project and it has the power to launch Christmas. It's hugely important."
"I think a lot of people are going to decide now is the time to go and buy a PlayStation 4 because this very ambitious project has come along that looks exciting."
"It's fantastic to have the exclusive content and the co-marketing, but it's more than that," Gara added. "I see it as the launch pad for the whole festive season. It comes nice and early in the season. People will go out and get a new console and then they'll want more games to play on it. It really does kickstart the market for ourselves, retailers and publishers alike."
Sony has a deal with Activision where all marketing for Destiny shows the PlayStation 4 logo, and not the Xbox One. There is also some exclusive content for the PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 3.

Well, it should be. Sony has spent huge amount of money for the exclusive marketing campaign.
Ooooohhh.... another first person shooter. Well, may be ok for the fans of the genre, but I´m done with this type of game, no matter how huge the hype is.
Sony should buy Bungie !
Why would Bungie want to be owned by Sony? they are free to make any game they want and on any console.
Seems like Sony is preparing to purchase Bungie from Activision.
That would be great, except Activision doesn't own Bungie.
another shitty ass online only game what!?
I feel sorry for ps4 owners man
plus I know I wont be playing this after Bayonetta2 comes out
lol so hard!! XD
Why so salty? because only Wii U left out? LOL. Bayonetta2 won't last forever, plus what's with those weird bonus costumes, ahahaha, Destiny will be updated every now and then :P I feel sorry for Nintendo fanboy.
Why feel sorry for PS4 owners? Most of us with a PS4 can afford a WiiU if it had a game we wanted to buy. Now xbone owners, I'm not sure of. When I played online it was mostly little kids and pre-teens spewing hate. So I doubt they can talk their parents into buying another console. Other than that. I also have a very nice gaming PC, like most PS4 players I've met.
