Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Boss Hiroshi Kawano Retires - News

The president and CEO of Sony Computer Entertainment Japan Hiroshi Kawano has announced that he will be retiring from the company at the end of August. He was in charge of the PlayStation division in Japan, as well as one of the main figures during the launch of the PlayStation 4 worldwide.

Atsushi Morita will be successor taking over the role as president of SCEJ on September 1. He was previously  the vice president of administration and control at the company, as well as a member of the board.

Kawano started with Sony in 1985 and has had many titles at the company. He has been the senior vice president of Consumer Sales and the general manager of Sony Europe.

He started with Sony in 1985. Can't blame him for wanting to retire after just short of 30 years. He probably wants to enjoy his retirement while he's still reasonably young and healthy.

Nah, send the current NA CEO to fill the open Japan position. then bring back Jack Tretton or Phil Spencer for the NA ceo position. lol
