Overall, hardware sale this week increased by 11 percent. Week-on-week sales is up for the PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4 and 3DS. Overall year-on-year sales are up by 16 percent. The Wii U is up year-on-year.
Two games debuted in the top 30 this week: The Last of Us Remastered (PS$) debuted at number 1 with sales of 632,030 units. The game launched worldwide.
Software milestones this week in the top 30: FIFA Soccer 14 (PS3) passed the six million mark and Battlefield 4 (PS4) passed the two million mark.
This week the Xbox One passed the five million mark.
Worldwide Hardware
Hardware home console sales week-on-week is up for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4. PlayStation 4 sales are up by 60,212 (51%) to 178,164 units sold. Wii U sales are down by 2,629 (-4%) to 56,907 units sold. The Xbox One sold 51,937 units, a decrease of 2,083 (-4%). PlayStation 3 sales are up 267 (1%) to 48,356 units sold. Xbox 360 sales are down 930 (-3%) to 27,419 units sold. The Wii sold 7,856 units, a decrease of 46 (-1%).
Handheld sales week-on-week is up for the 3DS. The 3DS sold 111,502 units, which is an increase of 387 (0%). The PlayStation Vita sold 33,109 units, which is down 4,932 (-13%) compared to last week. The PSP is down 123 (-2%) to 5,011 units sold. Total week on week sales are up 50,123 units (11%) to 520,261 units sold.
The Wii U is up year-on-year. The PlayStation 3 is down 43,791 (-48%), the Wii is down 15,072 (-66%), the Xbox 360 is down 27,778 (-50%), and the Wii U is up 30,337 (114%). The PSP is down 34,314 (-87%), the Vita is down 1,608 (-5%) and the 3DS is down 56,918 (-34%). Year on year sales is up by 70,937 units (16%).
Home console hardware sales have increased for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation 4 for one week. Sales have decreased for the Wii U for one week, two weeks for the Wii, four weeks for the Xbox 360, and six weeks for the Xbox One.
The PlayStation 3 has a 58 percent market share for the seventh generation; the Xbox 360 has a 33 percent market share; and the Wii has a nine percent market share. The PlayStation 4 has a 62 percent market share for the eighth generation, the Wii U has a 20 percent market share and the Xbox One has a 18 percent market share. Compared with 10 weeks ago the Xbox One is up.
Handheld hardware sales have increased for the 3DS for one week. Sales are down for three weeks for the Vita and eight weeks for the PSP. The Vita has outsold the PSP for 43 straight weeks. The gap between the 3DS and Vita has increased this week to 78,000 units, from 73,000 units last week.
The 3DS has a 77 percent market share for the eighth generation of handhelds, while the Vita has a 23 percent market share. Compared with ten weeks the 3DS and Vita are up, while the PSP is down.
Worldwide Software
Two games debuted in the top 30 this week: The Last of Us Remastered (PS4) debuted at number 1 with sales of 632,030 units. The game launched worldwide.
Sacred 3 (PS3) debuted at number 26 with sales of 12,851. The game launched in North America and Europe.
Here are the other games in the top 10 that are not debuts: Yakai Watch 2 Honke (3DS) is at number two with sales of 148,812. Mario Kart 8 (WiiU) is at number three with sales of 77,924. Minecraft (PS3) is at number four with sales of 55,980. Tomodachi Life (3DS) is at number five with sales of 47,451.
Minecraft (X360) is at number six with sales of 45,643. Pokémon X/Y (3DS) is at number seven with sales of 39,366. Yoshi’s New Island (3DS) is at number eight with sales of 39,130. Watch Dogs (PS4) is at number nine with sales of 29,360. Grand Theft Auto V (PS3) is at number 10 with sales of 28,683.
Software home console sales week-on-week is up for the PlayStation 4. The PlayStation 4 sold 854,921 games this week, an increase of 625,240 units (272%). The PlayStation 3 sold 791,624 games, a decrease of 16,951 units (-2%). The Xbox 360 sold 651,758 games, a decrease of 161 units (0%). Wii software sales are down 8,294 units (-3%) to 231,711 games sold. The Wii U sold 192,306 games, a decrease of 13,552 (-7%). The Xbox One sold 112,879 games, a decrease of 8,172 (-7%).
Handheld software sales week-on-week is up for the PSP. The 3DS sold 544,221 games, which is down 64,766 units (-11%). The DS sold 180,085 games, a decrease of 7,076 units (-4%) week-on-week. Vita game sales are down 30,282 units (-20%) to 120,592 games sold. The PSP sold 61,770 games, an increase of 5,792 (10%). Total combined software is up 481,778 units (15%) week-on-week to 3.74 million.
Year-on-year software totals is up for the Wii U and Vita. The PlayStation 3 is down 249,106 units (-24%), the Wii is down 148,066 units (-39%), the Xbox 360 is down 210,911 units (-34%), and the Wii U is up 75,174 units (64%). The DS is down 68,659 units (-28%), the PSP is down 56,164 units (-48%), the 3DS is down 94,190 units (-15%), and the Vita is up 21,509 units (22%). Total combined software is up 237,387 units (7%) games sold year-on-year.

The PlayStation 3 has a 47 percent market share for the seventh generation; the Xbox 360 has a 39 percent market share; and the Wii has a 14 percent market share. The PlayStation 4 has a 74 percent market share for the eighth generation, the Wii U has a 17 percent market share, and the Xbox One has a 10 percent market share.
Handheld software sales have increased for the PSP for one week and decreased for the Vita for two weeks, three weeks for the 3DS, and four weeks for the DS. The 3DS and DS have remained above their rivals, the Vita and PSP respectively. The 3DS sold more than four times as many games as the Vita. The DS sold nearly three times as many games as the PSP.
The DS has a 74 percent market share for the current generation handhelds and the PSP has a 26 percent market share. The 3DS has an 82 percent market share for the next generation handhelds, while the Vita has an 18 percent market share. Compared with ten weeks ago the 3DS and Vita are up.

Amazing TLOU and PS4 sales!
You said in The Last of Us article that the PS3 version has gone on to sell 7 million, yet you still have the total at 4.7 million. And you still haven't fixed the PS4 total. I don't think I can trust your numbers anymore.
WiiU/XB1 is interesting. XB1 should be up after Destiny, but Nintendo will come back in November because of Smash Bros, and just cause Nintendo kills the holidays.
Its interesting that not too many Xbox1 games are being sold, yet people aren't freaking out about it like they did/do with the WiiU.
Not only are the numbers for TLOU wrong but they still have the PS4 at only 9.4 mil. Sony already went on record saying 10mil have been sold. VGC keeps under reporting Sony don't know why!
