The Walt Disney Company has released its report for the third fiscal quarter, which ended June 30, 2014. The company earned $12.47 billion in revenue and $2.25 billion in net profit. Both of these figures are records for the company.
Disney Interactive, The Walt Disney Company's game division, also showed healthy sales. After years of struggling the game division saw revenue jump 45 percent year-over-year to $266 million. That lead to $29 million in profits, which is up from a loss of $58 million.
For the first nine months of the fiscal year, Disney Interactive has seen revenue of $937 million, a 40 percent increase year-over-year. Profits are also up to $98 million.
The success of Disney Infinity has helped the division remain profitable since its release, as well as strong sales of mobile games Tsum Tsum and Frozen Free Fall. However, development costs have been reduced when Disney Interactive laid off 700 employes when it did a restructuring.
