Xbox One to Release in China on September 23 - News
by William D'Angelo , posted on 30 July 2014 / 5,438 ViewsMicrosoft has announced today they will be releasing the Xbox One in China on September 23. This is the first console to be released in the nation in over 10 years, due to China implementing a ban on the sale of video game consoles.
The Xbox One will have two bundles released in China. The Kinect-less bundle will be ¥3,699 RMB ($599) and come with Powerstar Golf, and Neverwinter Online. The Day One limited edition bundle will be ¥4,299 RMB ($697) and include Kinect, a day one controller, Powerstar Golf, Neverwinter Online, Kinect Sports Rivals and Forza Motorsport 5: Racing Game of the Year.
Games in China will cost between ¥99 RMB ($16) and ¥249 RMB ($40). There will also be a free-to-play games available. Electronic Arts, Ubisoft, and 2K are all planning to release games for the Xbox One in China. Also local developers Gamebar, Yingpei Games, NetEase, Tencent, Perfect World, and Snail Games will be releasing games on the console.

That's pretty expensive. Then again, while a high percentage of Chinese are poor, the sheer number of them is definitely an advantage for Microsoft. Even if they only target 5% of the population, that is still around 68 million people.
I expect this to be a HUGE success. Saying it will be a train-wreck it too depressing so why not think positive.
