Overall, hardware sale this week decreased by 12 percent. Week-on-week sales is up just for the Xbox One. Overall year-on-year sales are down by three percent. The Wii U is the only platform up year-on-year.
Three games debuted in the top 30 this week. Titanfall (X360) debuted at the top of the charts with sales of 902,010. The PC version debuted at number four with sales of 122,569. The game launched in North America and Europe.
There are no software milestones this week in the top 30.
Worldwide Hardware
Hardware home console sales week-on-week is up just for the Xbox One. Xbox One sales are up 80,665 (108%) to 155,106 units sold. PlayStation 4 sales are down 874 (-1%) to 132,051 units sold. PlayStation 3 sales are down 50 (0%) to 61,477 units sold. Wii U sales are down 1,031 (-3%) to 36,817 units sold. The Xbox 360 sold 32,219 units, a decrease of 768 (-2%). The Wii sold 9,680 units, a decrease of 1,108 (-10%).
Handheld sales week-on-week is down across the board. The 3DS sold 110,590 units, which is down 6,515 (-6%) week-on-week. The PlayStation Vita sold 51,981 units which is down 3,827 (-7%) compared to last week. The PSP is down 883 (-6%) to 13,318 units sold. Total week on week sales are up 65,609 units (12%) to 603,239 units sold.
The Wii U is up year-on-year. The PlayStation 3 is down 92,684 (-60%), the Wii is down 25,856 (-73%), the Xbox 360 is down 75,317 (-70%), and the Wii U is up 8,855 (32%). The PSP is down 52,972 (-80%), the Vita is down 8,349 (-14%) and the 3DS is down 38,908 (-26%). Year on year sales are down 16,701 units (-3%).
Home console hardware sales have increased for the Xbox One for one week. Sales have decreased for the PlayStation 3 for two weeks, the Wii U and PlayStation 4 for three weeks, and the Xbox 360, Wii and PlayStation 3 have decreased for four straight weeks.
The PlayStation 3 has a 59 percent market share for the seventh generation; the Xbox 360 has a 31 percent market share; and the Wii has a 9 percent market share. The Xbox One has a 48 percent market share for the eighth generation, the PlayStation 4 has a 41 percent market share and the Wii U has an 11 percent market share. Compared with ten weeks ago only the Xbox One is up.
Handheld hardware sales have decreased for the Vita for one week and two weeks for the 3DS and PSP. The Vita has outsold the PSP for 23 straight weeks. The gap between the 3DS and Vita has decreased this week to 59,000 units, from 61,000 units last week.
The 3DS has a 68 percent market share for the eighth generation of handhelds, while the Vita has a 32 percent market share. Compared with ten weeks the3DS, Vita, and PSP are down.
Worldwide Software
Three games debuted in the top 30 this week. Titanfall (X360) debuted at the top of the charts with sales of 902,010. The PC version debuted at number four with sales of 122,569. The game launched in North America and Europe.
Dark Souls II (PS3) debuted at number two with sales of 566,367. The Xbox 360 version debuted at number three with sales of 231,338. The game launched worldwide.
Yoshi’s New Island (3DS) debuted at number five with sales of 112,692. The game launched in North America and Europe.
Here are the other games in the top 10 that are not debuts: South Park: The Stick of Truth (X360) is at number six with sales 71,400. South Park: The Stick of Truth (PS3) is at number seven with sales 69,793.
Minecraft (X360) is at number eight with sales of 55,538. Pokémon X/Y (3DS) is at number nine with sales of 49,732. Grand Theft Auto V (PS3) is at number 10 with sales of 43,740.
Software home console sales week-on-week is up for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox One. The PlayStation 3 sold 1.71 million games, an increase of 241,663 units (16%). The Xbox 360 sold 1.09 million games this week, a decrease of 6,906 units (375%). Xbox One software sales are up 847,807 units (-45%) to 1.07 million games sold. The Wii sold 335,460 games, a decrease of 7,956 units (-2%). The PlayStation 4 sold 228,257 games, a decrease of 86,758 (-28%). The Wii U sold 198,257 games, a decrease of 22,637 (-10%).
Handheld software sales week-on-week is up for the DS and 3DS. The 3DS sold 560,935 games, which up 60,090 units (12%). The DS sold 265,338 games, an increase of 17,659 units (7%) week-on-week. Vita game sales are down 44,325 units (-26%) to 123,349 games sold. The PSP sold 79,019 games, a decrease of 1,811 (-2%). Total combined software is up 996,826 units (21%) week-on-week to 5.67 million.
Year-on-year software totals is up for the Wii U and down for everything else. The PlayStation 3 is down 613,251 units (-26%), the Wii is down 187,440 units (-36%), the Xbox 360 is down 129,551 units (-11%), and the Wii U is up 129,964 units (178%). The DS is down 71,956 units (-21%), the PSP is down 181,455 units (-70%), the 3DS is down 29,050 units (-5%), and the Vita is down 35,809 units (-22%). Total combined software is down 180,750 units (3%) games sold year-on-year.

The Xbox One has a 72 percent market share for the eighth generation, the PlayStation 4 has a 15 percent market share, and the Wii U has a 13 percent market share. Compared with ten weeks ago the Xbox One is up.
Handheld software sales have increased for the 3DS and DS for one week. The Vita has decreased for one week and two weeks for the PSP. The 3DS and DS have remained above their rivals, the Vita and PSP respectively. The 3DS sold more than four times as many games as the Vita. The DS sold more than three times as many games as the PSP.
The DS has a 77 percent market share for the current generation handhelds and the PSP has a 23 percent market share. The 3DS has an 82 percent market share for the next generation handhelds, while the Vita has an 18 percent market share. Compared with ten weeks ago all four handhelds are down.
