In a blog post by Naughty Dog's Community Strategist Eric Monacelli on the PlayStation Blog it was announced that The Last of Us has sold more than six million units worldwide. This figure must include digital sales, as the game has sold 4.36 million units at retail, according to VGChartz.

In the blog post Monacelli also announced Naughty Dog will have a strong presence at GDC 2014 giving multiple talks. They will be talking about what went into the making of The Last of Us.

"This figure must include digital sales" Oh yeah it MUST do because it couldn't just be that Vgchartz have the numbers wrong like every other time lol.

Hahaha. "must include digital sales" Cause Vgchartz' data is 100% accurate right? Just update your data please and stop embarrassing yourself. This is official source announcing sales data, not some sales guessing/estimate site.

This wouldn't be the first time Vgchartz undertracked a game by over a million.

ZombieVito (on 17 March 2014)

It's horribly under-tracked. By at least a million IMO.

Lovely :) deserves every sale.

Underworld (on 18 March 2014)

Is that sold to consumers or retailers? If it includes digital sales why can't Vgchartz track that too?

poklane (on 17 March 2014)

This and GDC seems like a good time for the PS4 version to be announced ;)

I still haven't completed my copy of the game. I just got stuck on a hard section and then PS4 came out.

not surprised since this game was bundled since the game launched

veritaz (on 18 March 2014)

Didn't even know the game had a bundle. Why is it not surprising? It's not like PS3 sales sky rocketed when the game came out. It was barely higher. The bundle probably only makes up a small percentage. Who knows though, Vgchartz under tracked the hell out of it.
