The founder of the indie studio The Fullbright Company Steve Gaynor has told Joystiq that Gone Home sales have topped 250,000 units sold. About 80 percent of those sales were on Steam.

Gone Home managed to sell 50,000 units in its first month on sale. The game was released on August 15.

"We’re happy to announce that between Steam and our own website Gone Home has sold more than 50,000 copies since launch," said Gaynor in September. "We’re now almost a month out since launching on August 15, and we hope people will find it encouraging to know that, along with the positive critical response we are continually grateful for and humbled by, we are also doing alright as far as sales numbers go!"

I get the feeling that Adam Sessler choosing Gone Home as his Game of the Year had a lot to do with this. Good for the developers.
