Overview

There is one game in the top 40 to be in its final week: Wii Fit U (WiiU).

No games have 200,000 or more pre-orders, down from one last week, and the top eight has 100,000 or more pre-orders, the same as last week. No games added 20,000 or more pre-orders, down from one last week and two added 10,000 or more, up from one last week.

Games in Final Week Before Launch

Wii Fit U (WiiU) added 4,941 pre-orders for a final total of 39,108. Expect first week sales in the USA at retail to be in the 75,000 to 100,000 unit range. Expect the game to sell between 500,000 and 700,000 units lifetime in the US.

Major Performers in the U.S. – Week Ending December 14

Gran Turismo 6 (PS3) sales are expected to drop to around 100,000 units in its second week on sale.

Hardware and software sales are expected to increase across the board as we approach Christmas week.

Other Hot Games – In Order of Release

Titanfall (XOne) added 10,401 pre-orders, down from 7,889 last week, for a total of 122,441. The PC version added 2,639 pre-orders, up from 1,875 last week, for a total of 43,213. The Xbox 360 version added 2,761 pre-orders, up from 1,589 last week, for a total of 29,088. The game is 14 weeks away from launch in the USA, March 11, 2014.

inFAMOUS: Second Son (PS4) added 9,810 pre-orders, up from 6,283 last week, for a total of 116,117. The game is 15 weeks away from launch in the USA, March 21, 2014.

Notable mentions:  Watch Dogs (PS4) added 7,141 pre-orders for a total of 193,422. Destiny (PS4) added 10,137 pre-orders for a total of 157,878. Destiny (XOne) 8,859 pre-orders for a total of 123,441. Watch Dogs (XOne) added 4,406 pre-orders for a total of 121,319.

Requests: Tom Clancy’s The Division (PS4) added 1,488 pre-orders for a total of 18,427. Tom Clancy’s The Division (XOne) added 1,438 pre-orders for a total of 11,599. Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes (XOne) added 276 pre-orders for a total of 727.

I predict that Nintendo will sell 0 copies of Wii Fit U next week. I mainly think this is because the game does not go on sale until January 10th. Might want to check things like that before making bold predictions.

Don't really know what Nintendo was thinking, particularly cause the game has been completed and available for a while. Maybe they wanted to take advantage of New Years resolution season? Maybe they want to space out their releases to keep momentum and get people talking about their system while the XBox One and PS4 are having slow months? Who knows...

It good to see the top list is not dominated by shooter and it great that bayonetta 2 & dkcr weekly numbers increase a bit.

I have a feeling that Wii Fit U will sell 0 physical units for the entire month of December. The game releases on January 10th.

DK should end up pretty close to the top of the list by the time it releases. Nice to see Bayonetta starting to creep up the list.

I really doubt Wii Fit U will only sell 500,000 - 700,000 units lifetime. The 1st one sold over 20 million WW and that was when it was $100. I know interest wont be nearly as high as the 1st but Nintendo is marketing it, and the Fit Meter is a cool idea, so I would bet it reaches atleast 3 million world wide in its life.

It's going to be interesting. But it will sell very poorly, I'm pretty sure. The first one sold to a lot of people who were curious... today those people know they're not going to use it. They won't buy it again.
