There are two games in the top 40 to be in their final week: Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX (PS3) and NHL 14 (X360).
10 games have 200,000 or more pre-orders, the same as last week, and the top 19 has 100,000 or more pre-orders, up from 18 last week. Two games added 20,000 or more pre-orders, the same as last week and five added 10,000 or more, up from four last week.
Games in Final Week Before Launch
Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5 ReMIX (PS3) added 7,068 pre-orders for a grand total of 162,441. Expect first week sales in the USA at retail to be in the 200,000 to 250,000 unit range. Expect the game to sell between 500,000 units and 700,000 units lifetime in the US.
NHL 14 (X360) added 5,059 pre-orders for a final total of 46,533. Expect first week sales in the USA at retail to be in the 60,000 to 80,000 unit range. Expect the game to sell between 250,000 units and 350,000 units lifetime in the US.
Major Performers in the U.S. – Week Ending September 14
Diablo III (X360) sales are expected to drop to around 30,000 units in its second week on sale. The PlayStation 3 version sales are expected to drop to around 25,000 units.
Total War: Rome II (PC) sales are expected to drop to around 14,000 units in its second week on sale.
Rayman Legends (WiiU) sales are expected to drop to around 7,000 units in its second week on sale. The Xbox 360 version is expected to drop to around 6,000 units. The PlayStation 3 version is expected to drop to around 4,000 units.
Hardware and software sales are expected to remain relatively flat week-on-week.
Other Hot Games – In Order of Release
Grand Theft Auto V (X360) added 154,356 pre-orders, up from 104,103 last week, for a total of 1,735,502. As a comparison to the game with the biggest opening in gaming history, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, GTAV is tracking 61,514 pre-orders behind at the same number of weeks before release.
Grand Theft Auto V (PS3) added 117,244 pre-orders, up from 74,758 last week, for a total of 1,154,841. As a comparison to the game with the biggest PlayStation 3 opening in gaming history, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, GTAV is tracking 138,511 pre-orders ahead at the same number of weeks before release. The game is two weeks away from launch in the USA, September 17, 2013.
Battlefield 4 (X360) added 6,211 pre-orders, up from 4,348 last week, for a total of 298,178. The game is 179,000 pre-orders behind of Battlefield 3 (X360). This is up from 161,000 pre-orders behind the previous week. The Xbox 360 version of the game is eight weeks away from launch in the USA, October 29, 2013.
When you add in the Xbox One version of Battlefield 4 the two versions are slightly ahead of Battlefield 3. At 11 weeks before release it is 29,000 pre-orders ahead.
Battlefield 4 (PS3) added 2,685 pre-orders, down from 2,785 last week, for a total of 159,746. The game is 94,000 pre-orders behind of Battlefield 3 (PS3). This is up from 82,000 pre-orders behind the previous week. The PlayStation 3 version of the game is eight weeks away from launch in the USA, October 29, 2013.
When you add in the PlayStation 4 version of Battlefield 4 the two versions are way ahead of Battlefield 3. At 10 weeks before release it is 157,000 pre-orders ahead.
Call of Duty: Ghosts (X360) added 12,015 pre-orders, up from 11,979 last week, for a total of 471,731. The game is 514,000 pre-orders behind Black Ops II (X360). This is up from 488,000 pre-orders behind of Call of Duty: Black Ops II (X360) the previous week. The Xbox 360 version is nine weeks away from launch in the USA, November 5, 2013.
When you add in the Xbox One version of Call of Duty: Ghosts the two versions are a lot closer to Call of Duty: Black Ops II. At 11 weeks before release it is 181,000 pre-orders behind.
Call of Duty: Ghosts (PS3) added 5,999 pre-orders, down from 7,048 last week, for a total of 242,246. The game is 313,000 pre-orders behind Black Ops II (PS3). This is up from 301,000 pre-orders behind Call of Duty: Black Ops II (PS3) the previous week. The PlayStation 3 is nine weeks away from launch in the USA, November 5, 2013.
When you add in the PlayStation 4 version of Call of Duty: Ghosts the two versions are slightly behind Call of Duty: Black Ops II. At 10 weeks before release it is 51,000 pre-orders behind.
Notable mentions: Pokémon X/Y (3DS) added 18,573 pre-orders for a total of 254,600. Batman: Arkham Origins (PS3) added 5,404 pre-orders for a total of 93,613. Batman: Arkham Origins (X360) added 4,580 pre-orders for a total of 92,448.
Requests: Destiny (X360) added 408 pre-orders for a total of 41,149. Destiny (XOne) added 900 pre-orders for a total of 37,477. Destiny (PS3) added 68 pre-orders for a total of 15,256. The Legend of Zelda: A Link Between Worlds (3DS) added 2,113 pre-orders for a total of 23,123.
