Microsoft senior vice president and Windows head Julie Larson-Green is the favorite to take lead all of Microsoft's hardware division, according to a report by Bloomberg. This includes the Xbox division, which was the role Don Mattrick had before he left for Zynga, as well as the Microsoft Surface tablets. Mattrick had been the previous front runner in taking up the role of the entire hardware division.
Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer is currently considering a restructure that could be announced as early as next week. However, nothing has been finalized at this time and the roles may change before it is officially announced.
Other restructures include Skype president Tony Bates who would be in charge of with software developers and acquisitions. Windows Phone software chief Terry Myerson would also be responsible for Windows operation system engineer as the two businesses will be combined.
