Overview

There is one game in the top 40 to be in their final week, Aliens: Colonial Marines for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. As a reminder the Pro data is back up, which means that I am taking requests again for games outside the top 20.

Five games have 200,000 or more pre-orders, up from four last week, and the top 12 has 100,000 or more pre-orders, down from 15 last week. One games added 20,000 or more, down from four last week and six added 10,000 or more, down from nine last week.

Games in Final Week Before Launch

Aliens: Colonial Marines (X360) added 13,127 pre-orders for a grand total of 168,146. Expect first week sales in the USA at retail to be in the 225,000 to 300,000 unit range. Expect the game to sell between 600,000 million and 700,000 units lifetime in the US.

• Aliens vs Predator (X360,  2010) – 176,056 week one USA, 480,396 to date

Aliens: Colonial Marines (PS3) added 7,463 pre-orders for a grand total of 90,447. Expect first week sales in the USA at retail to be in the 150,000 to 200,000 unit range. Expect the game to sell between 400,000 million and 500,000 units lifetime in the US.

• Aliens vs Predator (PS3,  2010) – 108,930 week one USA, 347,056 to date

Major Performers in the U.S. – Week Ending February 16

Dead Space 3 sales for the Xbox 360 are expects to drop to around 80,000 units in its second week. The PlayStation 3 version is expected to drop to around 45,000 units.

Fire Emblem: Awakening (3DS) sales are expected to drop to around 55,000 units in its second week on sale.

Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time (PS3) sales are expected to drop to around 30,000 units in its second week on sale. The PlayStation Vita version is expected to drop to around 5,000 units.

Overall hardware sales are expected to remain relatively flat week-on-week.

Other Hot Games – In Order of Release

God of War: Ascension (PS3) added 15,339 pre-orders, up from 12,542 last week, for a total of 211,202. The game is 107,000 pre-orders behind God of War III. The game is five weeks away from launch in the USA, March 12, 2013.

Gears of War: Judgment (X360) added 9,610 pre-orders, down from 9,785 last week, for a total of 102,041. The game has fallen 969,000 pre-orders behind Gears of War III. The game is six weeks away from launch in the USA, March 12, 2013.

Bioshock Infinite (X360) added 9,450 pre-orders, down from 9,443 last week, for a total of 295,465. Bioshock Infinite (PS3) added 5,230 pre-orders, up from 4,512 last week, for a total of 179,028. The game is seven weeks away from launch in the USA, March 26, 2013.

Notable mentions: StarCraft II: Heart of the Swarm (PC) added 12,161 pre-orders for a total of 208,246. The Last of Us (PS3) added 23,525 pre-orders for a total of 159,403. Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance (PS3) added 14,042 pre-orders for a total of 133,505.

Requests: Rayman Legends (WiiU) added 985 pre-orders for a total of 23,370. Pandora’s Tower (Wii) added 2,068 pre-orders for a total of 7,767. Tales of Xillia (PS3) added 1,065 pre-orders for a total of 3,471.

GOW:Ascension will definitely reach GOW3 numbers or similar. Week 1 will be pretty similar or higher though, at least that is what I think.

Yea if you go to IGN, or other major websites, the number of page visits for GoW is still at the top. How can pre-orders be so low?

Maybe people expect a last minute 6 month delay like Gears of War 3.
