Now you guys recognize the Vita. Only took 2 (or was it 3?) weeks to fix that simple mistake. However now you have another mistake with Wii U (2,245k + 339k =/= 2,380k. It equals 2,584k)

WiiU 2012 & 2013----> 2,245,161+¿338,930=2,380,010? WTF!!

DemoniOtaku (on 12 January 2013)

OK.. seriously who sums the numbers?! PSP this Week: 2,977 +9,338 +53,520= 105,948?! HOW IS THAT POSSIBLE?!

The world is made up of more than Europe, North America and Japan, it also includes South America, Oceania and Africa. Thats why the global totals are higher than the sum of Europe, N. America and Japan. Some consoles (particularly cheaper Sony ones like the PS2 and PSP) sell a lot in these other area's due to Sony's wider distribution networks, which is why Sony consoles particularly seem to be higher. VGChartz has always been like this, I'm surprised you've only just noticed it.

Wait....3DS sold 1.19 million copies in the first week of 2013? That doesn't make sense.

MARCUSDJACKSON (on 12 January 2013)

looks like the only thing that slowed PS3 down in the US and Europe was not having a big exclusive. can you show me yr. to date for the second wk of Jan. last yr? e PS3 just keeps gaining market share. the gap is 1,659,453 according to these numbers. everything else is as expected.

platformmaster918 (on 12 January 2013)

imagine what it can do with a price drop (a huge one since it'll be below $200 finally) and 6 exclusives ranging from niche to huge in the first half of this year. I predict Sony fully unveils PS4 at E3 and cuts PS3 in the same conference to keep interest (I predict PS4 will be $400 so this should keep people buying 3s). They may be able to close the gap this year with only Gears coming on Xbox and the pre-order numbers being abysmal for it. Sly Cooper is beating it by 10,000 and while I love Sly it is not a mega franchise as it has never hit 2 million before and Gears is one of MS's big 3.

Imagine what 360 can do with a $130 Arcade system lol! People aren't buying primary systems, people who want a PS3 as a main system already have one. However even at $200, 360 owners will still not want a PS3 as a secondary console. Yet a $130 360, with most exclusives costing $20 or less. Hm... I already know a few PS3 owners who did this with Black Friday deals, just for Halo, and Forza.

Market Share prediction (2013): 50% PS3, 35% 360, 15% Wii

angelocp (on 12 January 2013)

@DemoniOtaku ...

DemoniOtaku (on 12 January 2013)
