Here we see data representing the global sales through to consumers and change in sales performance of the three home consoles over comparable periods for 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012.  Also shown is the market share for each of the consoles over the same periods.

Yes they did. They made the claim based off of shipped units, the whole shipped vs sold debacle. Microsft over shipped last year and the sold number didn't come in till after they made the claim. You would think after the truth came out they would just let it rest, but instead they threw a low blow at the biggest event of the year, just fuelling this dying console war.
