USA Preorders Chart, 7 April 2012 - Diablo III Leads the Charts - News
by William D'Angelo , posted on 13 April 2012 / 7,477 ViewsOverview
There are no games in the top 20 to be in its final week before launch. As a reminder the Pro data is back up, which means that I am taking requests again for games outside the top 20.
The top three games have 200,000 or more pre-orders, down from four last week, and the top right has 100,000 or more pre-orders, down from nine last week. One game added 20,000 or more, the same as last week and five add 10,000 or more, up from two last week.
Games in Final Week Before Launch
There are no games in the top 20 to be in its final week before release.
Major Performers – Week Ending April 14
Kinect Star Wars (X360) sales are expected to drop to around 110,000 in its second week on sale. This is a drop of just under 60 percent compared to its first week on sale.
Xenoblade Chronicles (Wii) sales are expected to drop to around 50,000 in its second week on sale.
Devil May Cry HD Collection sales are expected to drop down to a combined 30,000 in its second week. Both version are expected to sell around 15,000.
Overall hardware sales were up for the previous week; however expect overall sales for the week ending April 14 to remain flat. The Xbox 360 had gotten a boost in sales due to Kinect Star Wars, so hardware sales should be down a little bit.
Other Hot Games
Diablo III (PC) is at the top spot, as it added 61,522 pre-orders, up from 34,774 last week, for a total of 567,734. The game has an outside shot of reaching one million pre-orders by the time it releases. The game is six weeks away from launch, May 15 in North America and Europe.
Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier (X360) is at number two, as it added 11,530 pre-orders, down from 6,676 last week, for a total of 257,800. The PlayStation 3 version is down one spot to number 11, as it adds 2,250 pre-orders, up from 1,697 last, for a total of 90,416. The game is seven weeks away from launch, May 22, 2012 in the USA.
Notable mentions: Assassin’s Creed III (X360) added 16,936 pre-orders for a total of 139,166. Assassin’s Creed III (PS3) added 15,042 pre-orders for a total of 97,527. Borderlands 2 (X360) added 7,100 pre-orders for a total of 114,186.
Requests: The Last Story (Wii) added 2,265 pre-orders for a total of 9,461. The other requests from the previous week weren’t in the charts. Here are two games outside the top 20 that weren’t requested. I'm not gonna lie - I am REALLY NOT excited for Diablo 3. The game itself looks ok but the restrictions are severely going to limit its potential fun. Restrictions aren't fun. When will they learn that?
Luigi's Mansion almost in the top 5. ^_^
Upvoted!
Ok, you have Diablo 3 at 553 761 and 47,549 pre-orders for the week and on the chart it says it is at 567 734 units. What's the deal?

This is no surprise at all. Diablo is an incredibly popular game series and Diablo II had all the fans begging for more. When discussing RPGs, Diablo will probably come up in the conversation. Many games have tried to do what Diablo does, but with much less success. Dungeon Siege 3 was supposed to ease the absence of a third game, but just ended up being a massive disappointment. The nostalgia factor alone is a major draw. It is great that Diablo's sequel is alive and healthy. It could have easily gone the way of Bauldur's Gate.

Dark Alliance II left such a cliffhanger too.
request: darksiders II.. both consoles
Lol how you gone thumbs down someones request...anyway i thought max payne would be doing better.
I am thinking about pre-ordering Starhawk. I really liked the multiplayer beta. It took a bit to figure out the building mechanic, but once I did it turned into a really fun game. But for each game to be fun, it really takes a few guys on each team that understand building.
Nice to see Sly Cooper and Sorcery charting.
Request- Moral Kombat PSVita
It releases Tuesday June 19th, so 11 weeks. Has to average just over 8k weekly to top 100k preorders. Will be hard in the slow month of June, but after people finish XenoBlade or play it and appreciate it, pre-orders should pick up.
Apparently, no one likes your posts here pez. I think it could do 100k week 2, mainly because it releases at the start of the week, but realistically 80-100k.
