I found RE4 to be plenty of horror. I personally don't find the 2D ones all that scary any maybe just because I am older than I use to be. I think people just remember the 2D ones being scarier because of their age when they played it. Not all of them, but many of them.

Also, if people are gonna make bad generalizations, at least get the terms right... FPS is a FIRST PERSON SHOOTER. There are huge differences between FPS and TPS games, namely the less action oriented aspect of FPS games and lack of environmental interactions in most cases.

Also survival games aren't games where you are actually surviving against enemies in desperate situations. It means you have very limited resources and ammunition in the entire game to use.

RE's horror element has always been second rate B movie stuff. This looks like its gonna be a survival/action like RE4. The horror element we won't know until we play it as showing the horror parts makes it not so scary once you get there.

The RE series just lost the horror, but it's still survival, remember the beginning of the RE4 where you have to move stuff to block doors and windows and you had to run away from ganados, and the part where you you where with Luis inside a house, it has a lot of survival elements, it just lost the horror.
I'd call the genre Survival Action now, I just miss the old fashioned zombies. I love them slow, stupid, ugly and making weird noises. I liked the ganados for a while, but then I realized it's not the same at all...

It's gonna be a hell of a game, BUT not a survival horror. More like an action fps. Personally I'd prefer a deep scary to death experience.
